Circular Economy & Resources
The Prinzhorn Group is committed to advancing a circular economy across all operations, focusing on efficient use of resources, minimizing waste, and promoting the reuse of materials. By integrating paper, packaging, and recycling activities, the Group ensures that valuable resources are kept within the material cycle, reducing dependence on virgin materials and lowering the overall environmental footprint.
Recovered paper and recycled fibers form the backbone of the Group’s raw material base, complemented by responsibly sourced virgin fibers when needed. Sustainability criteria, including certifications such as FSC® and PEFC, guide sourcing decisions, while supplier assessments and traceability measures ensure that environmental and social risks are managed throughout the supply chain.
In production, continuous efforts are made to improve efficiency, optimizing energy and water consumption while minimizing material losses. Products are designed with eco-efficiency in mind, incorporating high shares of recycled content and ensuring recyclability at the end of their life. Waste streams from production, such as paper trim and sludge, are systematically recovered, either reintegrated into production processes or sent to certified recycling partners, keeping materials in the loop and contributing to the circular economy.
By embedding sustainability in operational management through certified processes and continuous improvement initiatives, the Group strengthens its contribution to responsible resource management. Through these measures, Prinzhorn Group turns waste into value, demonstrating a commitment to long-term environmental stewardship and circularity across its value chain.
